Collection: What is Brandi Reading?

I love to read.

That is no surprise. I set a goal of 80-100 new books to read each year and I will let you know which ones I loved and which ones made me use toothpicks to keep my eyelids open.

Some of the books will be available in the Daisy Chain Book Co. inventory, and the link to them is listed below. I will list the books I am reading in this collection and you can check by anytime and maybe discover a new title that you hadn't considered before. And don't worry, I won't steer you wrong, if I didn't like a book, I will tell you! I give them a Brandi rating out of 5*.

Let's READ!

Books Read in 2019:

1. The Home For Unwanted Girls **** powerful story, scary part of Canadian history

2. A Life in Parts *** fun & informative, made me like Bryan Cranston more

3. Marilla of Green Gables ***** SO good! I loved reading about Marilla as a young girl

4. The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle *** fun & inventive, will make a great film

5. Garlic & Sapphires: The Secret Life of a Critic in Disguise **** fun read, I had never considered the challenges of a famous food critic before

6. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: The Original Screenplay **** listened to Eddie Redmayne read this and it was wonderfully entertaining

7. The Lonely Hearts Hotel *** beautiful story, but a little more crass than I typically prefer

8. The Wife Between Us ** interesting twist, but more blah than I had hoped

9. Mercy *** in typical Jodi Picoult fashion, an engaging and thought-provoking story

10. Lily and the Octopus *** unexpected, emotional & entertaining for dog-lovers

11. The Clockwork Princess **** a wonderful end to the trilogy, I had ALL the feels

12. The Woman in the Window **** I love a story with a twist. Worth the read!

13. I'd Rather Be Reading ***** Anne Bogel & I are kindred spirits, this read is fabulous.

14. The Birth House *** this was an eye-opening glimpse into motherhood in Eastern Canada's history - well told.

15. Landline *** I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. What a fun & intriguing idea for a story!

16. Parnassus on Wheels ***** Loved, loved, loved this! A traveling bookshop? They had me at page 1.

17. The Scribe of Siena *** if Outlander went to Italy - this would be the result. I loved the descriptions of foods and locations...

18. One Hundred Years of Solitude *** it may have won the Nobel Prize, but I was just glad to get through it. Suspend your desire to know what's going on and you will enjoy this one.

19. Vision in White ** typical Nora Roberts, a little predictable and a little romance with the backdrop of wedding planners thrown in. 1st in a series.

20. A Tree Grows in Brooklyn ***** I love Francie. I want to hang out with her. An old-fashioned story that is timeless.
