Cathy valued her French-Canadian and Russian-Ukrainian heritage, yet often questioned the methods of parenting she observed. She researched, read and employed the concepts that built empowerment by using hands on sensory methods and nurturing alternative thoughts. Committed to this profession, her aim was to help build self-esteem, early decision making skills and have tons of fun.

University of Motherhood, written by new author Cathy Kotow-Dockman was produced by the Canadian Publisher, Friesen Press. She shares her reality of motherhood, including a multitude of challenges, joys, and successes. She explains how she used her creativity to develop and environment of exploration and cooperation. She grew in self-awareness and examined and built her identity while raising her four children.
